Jemmy Joe A-Go-Go
Добавлен 11 авг 2012
Jemmy Joe is a twin. An unreliable narrator. An acquired taste. Mixing traditional folk, jazz harmonic taste and a sardonic optimism, Jemmy Joe has been making music for no one his entire, god damn adult life. Though he has very little to show for it, it is the train he is on and will not be jumping off any time soon.

“How Little We Know” (Frank Sinatra cover)
Просмотров 4914 часов назад
“How Little We Know” by Frank Sinatra was is one of those old songs that moves in meaning. My first take of it was that it was pure cheese. 1950’s pap. The kind of stuff rock n roll did away with, thank God. But it played over and over at a job of mine. It became funny to me. The song is subtly saying “Frank is a playa!” You could read this song just as saying “hey baby doll, I don’t know you, ...

“2 Make U Feel My Love” (Bob Dylan cover)

A solo acoustic cover of Bob Dylan’s “To Make You Feel My Love”, in contrast of my arranged full band version of it. This is a more traditional and intimate take on it and hey: I feel that way sometimes too. But it’s less mysterious and complex than the full version, which has higher highs and lower lows. But it’s all gravy.
"What Good Am I?" Bob Dylan cove

An acoustic cover of my rendition of Bob Dylan's "What Good Am I?". I made an electronic cover of this that alters it greatly. This is still an invention, adding a chorus to the song with a nod to Fleet Foxes, but is more true to the original. Oh. And I wore a wig, Cuz yolo.

A simple, intimate cover I did of an album track of Dylan. Not as ambitious as the version I cut with Vince Brown, but worthy of sharing.
"DIGNITY" (Bob Dylan cover)

An acoustic cover and interpretation of Bob Dylan's obscure song "DIGNITY". I really think this is some of the best lyrics he's ever written and it's a shame he never made a great version. No harm no foul, but the released version are all half baked. Still love them. Ironically, I never fully baked this one. I wanted a full band, but never got to it. Oh well. It is what this is. lyrics: Fat man...

First!
Also, excellent rendition!
@@guiremcguire743That song I learned from AG Ferrari.
BD with a banjo?
Far from the first time. Mike Seeger does a real cool version of “Maggie’s Farm” with two finger style. But I’m sure there are a hundred different version.
Guitar tone sounds brilliant!!
A super nice classical guitar and tube mic: hard to get it wrong. 😂
You're giving the evil kidnapper dude from Alvin and The chipmunks vibes. And im here for it
If I had a nickel for every time I've heard that.....
Loving this whole vibe. 💫
It’s nice to hear you play banjo again.
I was really expecting him to go “Ooo-ee-us-toppy-top-too”
Love this tune!
😊😊😊
😎
I am excited to hear your album. 😊
Thanks Nix. I’d love to hear what you think.
I will look out for the new album on Spotify.
Love it. ❤
Thanks. I wish this group of musicians were free to work on more stuff. We had a special thing, but many special things are momentary too.
All things are momentary, I believe. I appreciate all the special things.@@JemmyJoeAGoGo
The truth hurts
Sometimes! Sometimes being hurt helps you see things true too.
Nice song. Cool mix too! Fun to listen
Flattery will get you every where with me!
You can’t levitate? Oh man, I feel bad for you. It’s the best!
😂
I is a wholesome counter example in the secret of Kells. The uncle Jemmy Joe character says to the Jacob/Isaac character how much there is to learn in the world rather than books. Much later near the story, arc resolution the Jacob/Isaac character says to the uncle Jemmy Joe character “not all learning is done in books!” It Is kind of tongue-in-cheek. To which the uncle Jemmy Joe character says “yes I remember reading that somewhere. “
The link no longer works! do you have a copy of the TAB saved elsewhere?
I updated the link to an Instagram post. Hope it works out!

The dreaming guitar really fits the song
Thanks!

This is a pretty poem :)
Thanks! All that glitters is pretty, in my book. Its a compliment I'll always take!
I loved The video!
Obviously made with you in mind!
Very good! Drops the mic at the end…or unplugs it at least.
You know it!
Good times!
The song is *JUST* old enough to be nostalgic about.
Dang bro you should make a remix of this song
1-2-3- NOT IT!
Love the clown imagery
It’s from the 1969 movie “The Rite”.
Well I am with Tony on the video part. I liked the animated guitar playing and the Bells. The version of the song isn't bad but as what I consider a serious piece has a childish angst in its staccato type delivery. Still, I agree there is much room for different interpretations and presentations with this song and many of Bob's songs. The great vocal quality and musical talent is evident! I think I enjoyed reading Tony's comments and what Jemmy Joe wrote more than listening to the song. There are a lot of great insights. I certainly appreciate it even if I have sounded negative at all!
As I wrote with Tony, your criticisms only mean you are viewing my piece as I meant it to be be seen. Thank you! I view it the original as a serious piece too, but view people who write serious pieces to often be childish. I find the character that is seeing the world to be an unreliable narrator. If you are going to portray an angsty, over serious, youthful mind who just happen have something worthwhile to say, what would it look/feel like? That's what I wanted to tap into. Thank you for the kind words too, but your criticism please me more.
Bro the thumbs up at the end
I was happy because I got it in the first take.
Sounds like a better version of you. Must be a joy to play!
That’s what I’m always aiming for. Kaizen is *my* number one value!
Yep
Uh huh!
You play very nice😊
Been working on it for long enough! 🤓 But thanks.
8 years ago. Insane.

Hello from 2022, im here bcs of the netflix's remake
Wow, I didn't know that was happening. I'll be curious how the remake is, as I thought the original two episodes was the best. I'll try not to be a snob about it though.
I like this! Also, first.
